Deborah is absolutely my angel- she brought me back to life- truly! After losing my hair to chemo I had tried chemo girls hair extensions which had all fallen out- it was like losing my hair all over again :( Deb brought me back to life - and her work has withstood the test of time and multiple beach vacations! I found Deborah about a year after ending chemotherapy. At 1.5 or 2 inches long, my short hair was a daily reminder of my experience with cancer. Deborah worked with me to help me look like my pre-chemo self. On top of that, she is sweet, kind, and hilarious. I can't recommend her enough!

Meeting Deborah and finding Hair With a Cause has changed my life. At 26 years old I tried to do everything I possibly could to save my hair while going through chemotherapy. I was told by penguin cold caps that most people keep about 80% of their hair, but I was only left with about 20% and had to wear a hat just to feel comfortable during my entire journey. I flew to LA to get a quality wig that I paid thousands for (on top of what I had already paid for all my cancer treatments and penguin cold caps) and never wore it once. I was so uncomfortable with not only how it felt physically (itchy, having to fit it JUST right on your face) but also how it looked, I was very aware of the fact that I was wearing a wig. It eventually came time for me to go back to work, and the last thing I wanted was to have to go back after what I had just been through not feeling the least bit comfortable with how I looked, and started to google solutions in desperation. I got SO lucky to somehow land on Deborah with Hair With a Cause. I reached out to her and told her my situation (she responded immediately) and next thing I new I was flying down (she will also fly to you!) to get my extensions put in a day before returning to work, because she so gracefully fit me in knowing my fears of having to go back. My first experience was a bit nerve wrecking, as I had not had anyone or anything touch my hair for months on end, so the feeling of even being tugged at just the slightest bit was not the most comfortable at first. Being a natural skeptic, I was nervous about whether or not it would look natural, and more importantly whether or not my actual hair growing back underneath would be effected by the extensions. Now, one year after my last chemotherapy, two maintenance sessions later (when you get your extensions taken out and re-placed as your natural hair starts to grow out) I have the most INCREDIBLE and beautiful natural hair that I wake up everyday thankful for (in addition to my health ). Deborah made it not only possible for me to go back to work, but she TRULY was the defining factor in allowing me to move forward with my life after cancer by making me somehow feel normal again. I no longer had to look in the mirror at my short hair that I tried so desperately to save and that served as a reminder of the most horrible time of my life. Her services cost the same as a good wig, but without all of the worry and she will work with you on price as best as she can (the quality of hair is amazing!). Deborah and Hair With a Cause welcomed me and my sister in with open arms and will FOREVER be an angel in our lives.
